In 1539 in the historic homeland of sewing, the English district of Huddesfield, the owner of a mill converted it to work with fabric. It was connected with increasing of taxes on grain, also with many weavers, backing from Centennial war. At first, the work consisted of manual extraction of fabric fibers, only 6 people worked in production, and the territory of fabric supply was limited to orders from local tailors. Soon the first machines were installed.
In 1799, with industrial revolution in England, Scabal was the first at mechanizing processes of weave. This allowed to create thinner and more delicate fabrics of that time.
Scabal fabric store at SavileRow opens in 1907. It was then that the famous Bunch was created — a catalog with fabric samples for further ordering.
Today Scabal is lux among fabrics. Company spend huge amounts of money for incorporation and development of new technologies of creating fabrics. You will never confuse Scabal fabric suits with other manufacturers. Scabal fabrics are made in a restrained color and graphic style. However, shade depth and original texture is a sign of great designer’s taste and skill.
You can see many photos with autographs in general office in Belgium. Thus, it become clear, who gives preference to Scabal: politicians and statesmen, prominent representatives of WallStreet, etc. This is the best indicator of the level, isn’t it?
